Top Democrat Goes Absolutely Bonkers During Half-Naked Arrest

William “Mullins” McLeod, a Democratic candidate for governor in South Carolina, is facing pressure to drop out of the race after dash cam footage revealed his erratic and disturbing behavior during a May arrest. The footage—released through a FOIA request—shows McLeod nearly naked, shouting bizarre claims, and threatening public officials. Now, even his own party is urging him to step aside.

The South Carolina Democratic Party is in damage control after dash cam footage surfaced showing one of their gubernatorial candidates behaving erratically during an arrest earlier this year.

William “Mullins” McLeod, a prominent Charleston attorney and newly declared Democratic candidate for governor, was arrested in downtown Charleston back in May. The footage, released through a Freedom of Information Act request, shows McLeod wearing nothing but underwear and shoes, shouting incoherently and refusing to identify himself to police.

Officers reported that McLeod was “yelling at the top of his lungs,” claiming to be “God” and “Superman,” and threatening to “kick [an opponent’s] f**king teeth in.” He also directed threats at various South Carolina political figures, including Republican Attorney General Alan Wilson. At one point, McLeod used a racial slur during the interaction.

Despite launching his campaign just this week, McLeod now finds himself under fire from within his own ranks. South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain issued a pointed statement following the footage’s release, saying, “After reviewing the transcript of the dash cam footage from his recent arrest, it is clear that Mr. McLeod is navigating profound challenges and should focus on his mental and emotional well-being instead of a campaign for governor.”

McLeod, however, is standing by his actions, claiming the arrest was unlawful and a violation of his constitutional rights. “The only thing I’d ask the voters is to please give me a little bit of grace,” he said in a recent statement, insisting the full truth will come out in time.

At present, McLeod faces misdemeanor charges for disorderly conduct. But the real political fallout may be just beginning.

This incident is another stark reminder of the deepening instability within parts of the Democratic Party. While Republicans focus on faith, family, and law and order, the left continues to prop up figures who bring chaos rather than clarity. Voters will be watching closely in the months ahead.
