Alabama Republicans on Wednesday appealed to the Supreme Court over their state's congressional map, after a three-judge panel blocked it.
The state Republicans are asking the high court to allow the implementation of a redrawn congressional map that would remove Alabama's second majority-Black district and give Republicans another House seat in the midterm elections, The Hill reported.
According to the appeal, the Supreme Court's recent decision regarding Louisiana's congressional map, which narrowed the Voting Rights Act, means they should be able to move forward with their map.
